Collect Detect ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Collect Detect Chrome extension and this website (collect-detect-web.pages.dev). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. An account is required to use the extension.

Data We Collect

When you use the Collect Detect Chrome extension, it reads publicly visible eBay listing data on pages you visit, including:

• Listing title, price, and condition
• Listing images (analyzed via our API to detect grading cert badges)
• Card category, set, grade, and grader information derived from the listing
• Cert numbers verified against grading company databases
• Deal scores and market price comparisons generated during your session

This data is processed to provide in-page analysis and is also stored on our servers in anonymized or aggregated form as part of our proprietary market dataset (see "Aggregate Data & Market Intelligence" below).

Aggregate Data & Market Intelligence

We compile anonymized, aggregate data from extension usage to build a proprietary dataset of collectibles market activity. This includes trends such as which cards are being looked up most frequently, price movement over time, cert verification volume by grader, and deal score distributions.

This aggregate data does not contain personally identifiable information — your name, email, and account details are never included. We may share or sell this anonymized aggregate data to third parties such as market research firms, pricing platforms, investment tools, or grading companies.

By using Collect Detect, you consent to the collection and aggregation of anonymized usage data as described above.

Account Data

A free account is required to use Collect Detect. When you sign up, we collect your email address for authentication purposes. If you upgrade to a paid plan, billing is handled by our payment provider and we do not store payment card details ourselves.

Usage Analytics

This website uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. Only aggregate page-view data is collected to help us improve the site.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Collect Detect:

• Cloudflare Pages — website hosting and CDN. Cloudflare may log IP addresses for security and performance purposes per their own privacy policy.
• Supabase — database and authentication for account features.
• PriceCharting & eBay APIs — pricing data lookups. Your queries are sent to these APIs but are not associated with your identity.

Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies. If you create an account, a session cookie is used solely to keep you logged in. The extension does not set or read cookies.

Data Retention

Anonymized aggregate data (market trends, card popularity, price history) is retained indefinitely as part of our proprietary dataset. Account data (email, subscription status) is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your personal account data at any time by contacting us — this does not affect anonymized aggregate records, which contain no personally identifiable information.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@collectdetect.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services evolve. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Collect Detect after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
